Commercial Tile Installation
Retail, office, restaurant, and multi-unit tile work in Littleton and Denver's south suburbs.
Commercial Projects Are Different
Commercial tile installation has constraints that residential work does not. Schedules are often tied to contractor or tenant timelines. Spaces need to be ready by specific dates. Traffic loads are higher, which means material selection and installation methods need to account for wear over years of use, not just initial appearance.
We work in retail storefronts, restaurant and cafe kitchens, office building lobbies, hotel common areas, and multi-unit residential buildings. The tile selection conversation is different for each. A restaurant kitchen floor needs a tile with a DCOF (Dynamic Coefficient of Friction) rating above 0.42 wet for safety compliance. A lobby floor needs something that can tolerate rolling loads from furniture and carts without cracking grout joints over time.
We discuss these requirements during the estimate phase. We do not just install what we are handed. If a material is wrong for the application, we say so before the order is placed.
What Commercial Tile Work Includes
- Pre-project site assessment and substrate evaluation
- Concrete slab crack and joint treatment prior to tile
- Material selection guidance based on use and traffic class
- Movement joint placement per TCNA guidelines
- Large-area layout planning to minimize field cuts at high-visibility locations
- Grouting with commercial-grade epoxy or cement grout as appropriate
- Final inspection and punch-list walk with the project contact
- Coordination with GC or property manager on scheduling and access
